The Huawei Mate 70 series will be the first phones to feature the new HarmonyOS Next operating system. Although the company has delayed the release date of this highly anticipated new series, sources indicate that the devices may also be sold with the Android operating system. This means that the devices will be available in two different operating systems in China and the global market. Here are the details…
Huawei Mate 70 to Launch Globally with Android
The reason for the company’s choice of two different operating systems is seen as Huawei’s desire to gradually expand the availability of its smartphones outside of China. This situation compels the company to continue using the system developed by Google.
Sources indicate that all devices in the Mate 70 series will have both operating systems. The devices are expected to come with HarmonyOS Next in China and Android in other countries.
For the Chinese population, who are accustomed to software filled with various local solutions, HarmonyOS Next will be the most optimized option. However, it is seen as inevitable for global users to prefer Android, as they require Google applications.
Despite facing various sanctions in the United States, Huawei must continue to facilitate the installation of Google applications on devices sold in Europe or Latin America.
Users will also have the option to purchase the Mate 70 with HarmonyOS Next installed if they wish. However, the company is aware that very few people outside of China will adopt the new operating system.
